The Lions-49ers point differential and total are adjusted by Deebo Samuel’s return.
In the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, San Francisco 49ers star receiver Debbie Samuel had a shoulder injury that kept him out of most of the team’s 24-21 victory over the Green Bay Packers.
Samuel’s clearance to participate in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against the Detroit Lions gave the Niners welcome news on Friday.
The point spread changed as a result of the news, with San Francisco now favoring by 7.5 points instead of 7.
Additionally, the total (Over/Under) increased from 51 to 52 total points scored.
The line shift didn’t surprise Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports. He declared, There’s an argument to be made [that] he’s worth three points a game if you look at the analytics and the offensive production. That’s not what you expect from a non-quarterback.
Point spread: 49ers -7.5 (if the 49ers win by more than 7.5 points, the Lions will cover the spread).
The moneyline is as follows: Lions +276 underdogs to win (bet $10 to win $37.60 total); 49ers -351 favorites to win (bet $10 to win $12.85 total).
Samuel joins Washington Hall of Famer Charley Taylor as the only receiver in NFL history to have 1,000 rushing yards and 4,000 receiving yards in his first five seasons.
The 49ers average 7.1 yards per play with Samuel and 5.7 yards per play without him, according to Emmanuel Acho, co-host of “Speak.
That’s ninety yards over 64 plays, which is what the Niners ran in the previous game, Acho remarked.
You have roughly 350 on average, so the difference between the Niners offense with and without Deebo is about 35%. The fact that Deebo is performing is the biggest story you will hear today.
Deebo Samuel is good to play against the Lions in the NFC Championship Game.
According to FOX Sports Research, the Niners are 8-9 when Samuel is not on the field and 53-23 (including the postseason) when he is. This year during the regular season, the 49ers lost both of the games he missed.
Samuel is third on the squad behind George Kittle (18) and Brandon Aiyuk (28), with 16 plays of 20 yards or more this season.
When Samuel has at least one play of 20 yards or more this season, the 49ers are 9-1; otherwise, they are 3-4.
