One of the best decisions made by the San Francisco 49ers in their history may have been trading for Christian McCaffrey.
Since joining the league, the former standout player for the Carolina Panthers has been one of the most disruptive offensive players in the game, and he doesn’t appear to be slowing down.
Because of this, he took advantage of the offseason to get married to Olivia Culpo, his longtime girlfriend, as the NFL season approached (via MLFootball).
Following their devastating Super Bowl defeat the previous season, McCaffrey and the Niners will be determined to win this time around.
To put it mildly, he just finished the best season of his professional life.
After putting up stats straight out of a video game, he ought to have won MVP, but because that’s now a quarterback’s award, he had to make do with NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
For the Stanford product, this offseason has been extremely eventful.
In addition to being selected as the featured player in the latest Madden magazine, he inked a very rich contract deal that will keep him associated with the Niners team until 2027, making him the best paid running back in the whole league.
He was the center of attention for Kyle Shanahan’s offense and saw action on the field for more than 80% of his team’s offensive snaps. It doesn’t appear that this strategy will alter anytime soon, at least not while he is healthy.

Brandon Aiyuk Responds in two words when asked if he wants to stick with the 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers recently suffered a devastating and depressing Super Bowl defeat.
With their current roster, they ought to have another chance to overcome the obstacle, though.
The Philadelphia Eagles are the only other team in the NFC that appears to be a real opponent for them.
Naturally, for it to continue, they have to make sure that their talented players stay on the team.
That is the reason it is so important that they retain Brandon Aiyuk.
The All-Pro wide receiver recently told TMZ Sports & JPAFootball that he “for sure” wanted to stay with the Niners.
Fans and the front office will appreciate it because it obviously didn’t look that way.
Aiyuk has given the impression that the Niners are trying to let him go, even though they have consistently expressed their desire for him to remain, at least in public.
Soon after their Super Bowl defeat, he started making the rounds, and it was obvious that he was trying to bully his way out of town.
They may wait to offer him any kind of agreement even if they want him there because he is still bound by his contract.
It shouldn’t matter if the Niners or someone else pays Aiyuk because he is among the top route runners in the league.
