Good news: The 49ers made NFL history by being the first team to accomplish this in…………

Golden Nuggets: In the 49ers’ inaugural Super Bowl, they became the first team in NFL history to do this.

Just two days after the Super Bowl, the 49ers let go of defensive coordinator Steve Wilks eight days ago. The 49ers may announce his successor soon.

On Tuesday, Tim Kawakami of TheAthletic.com reported this: It sounds like the 49ers could be getting close to a Washington, D.C. It’s unclear when an announcement will be made, but it might happen soon.

Reports about potential applicants for the position are scant or nonexistent. Some think it will be Brandon Staley, the former head coach of the Chargers.

When making the announcement, coach Kyle Shanahan informed reporters that he would take both internal and outsider applicants into consideration.

It is likely that the hunt has been ongoing, especially since the scouting combine is scheduled for next week.

Since the position wasn’t even filled until two days after the season concluded, time is usually of the essence.

Many people think Shanahan would not have let Wilks go if he hadn’t known who would take his position. That would account for the silent search. Seize the ideal applicant, set up a few interviews, and make the hire.

No matter how it has transpired or who it will be, it makes sense to believe that it will occur shortly.
