Despite having just finished his most successful rushing season to date, Christian McCaffrey is still fully dedicated.
The top running back for the San Francisco 49ers had a career-best season last year, averaging 5.4 yards per carry with 1,459 rushing yards, and he contributed to San Francisco’s Super Bowl berth. Last but not least, McCaffrey placed third in the MVP vote, marking the first time in his seven-year career that he has been among the top five candidates.
Having said that, McCaffrey’s career workload has been enormous since he is the league’s finest dual-threat back. Over the course of his seven years in the league, the veteran back has amassed 1,806 touches, which ranks fifth in the league. Since joining the NFL, he has finished in the top four in four different seasons and twice led the league in total touches, including this past season.
Despite approaching his 28th birthday and starting his eighth season, McCaffrey has no intention of slowing down anytime soon. He feels better than he has ever felt in his career, in fact.
This is the best feeling I’ve ever had, McCaffrey remarked in a one-on-one interview. I feel amazing. I don’t think I’ve really found my rhythm yet.

Ezekiel Elliott is a year older than McCaffrey and is no longer a full-time starting back, but despite hitting a period where many running backs slow down, McCaffrey thinks he can play for as long as he wants.

Regarding how long he intends to play, McCaffrey responds, I don’t even think about that. I’m only thinking about the upcoming year. I most certainly don’t think I’ll be finished anytime soon. That’s something I can confirm for you.
