The daily transactions report states that Tashaun Gipson, a free agent safety, will miss the first six games of the 2024 season due to a suspension by the NFL.

Gipson, 33, played with the 49ers for the previous two seasons, starting all six postseason games as well as 34 out of a possible 35 regular-season games.

In 16 games in 2023, he has one sack, one interception, and three passes defensed.

Gipson has spent 12 seasons as a player for five different teams, recording 684 tackles, 33 interceptions, and 68 pass breakups.

2014 saw him play for the Browns in his lone Pro Bowl.

Jahlani Tavai and the Patriots consent to a three-year extension

Another important member on the Patriots’ roster has been suspended.

Linebacker Jahlani Tavai and New England have reached a three-year contract deal, per an ESPN report.

According to the first report, Tavai’s new contract has a $15 million base value with potential for an additional $21 million.

Tavai, 27, was about to embark on his final season of a two-year contract that he had signed in November 2022.

Tavai was removed from Detroit’s roster at the beginning of the 2021 regular season after being drafted by the Lions in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He joined the practice squad of New England and has remained with the team ever since.
