Breaking news: ‘It’s such a difficult moment for me.’ -Raiders QB Gardner Minshew in tears as he announces his departure…

The Las Vegas Raiders made a change late at night, and, while there is no saving this 2-7 start from the Raiders, it was the right move. They fired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, and rightfully so, and made him take some of his assistants with him like quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello and offensive line coach James Cregg.

That shook things up a bit. The Raiders though, will still be one of the worst offensive teams in the league, and they will continue to lose games. That’s just the reality of the situation as this won’t fix their problems.

But, it’s a head start on what was going to need to be done this offseason. The Raiders now, though, have to find out who is going to call plays next game against the Miami Dolphins. After a tough loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, the Raiders are on a bye week this week, so, there is plenty of time.

Antonio Pierce mentioned on Monday that he will use the bye week to determine not only who the play-caller will be, but the quarterback as well. He noted that he will likely use the next 24-48 hours to make that decision, but decide and let us know next week after the bye.

The Raiders started quarterback Gardner Minshew last week, but he was then pulled for Desmond Ridder, who has only been with the team for about two weeks if that.

Ridder wasn’t really otherworldly, but considering he was dealt maybe the worst offensive line in football and only knows a fraction of the offense, he played well. If I had to guess, they may go that route as a starter, because he also eliminates turnovers.

A decision will be made, regardless, and now it’s just about waiting. When the Raiders return from their bye week, they will face the Miami Dolphins, then the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs again.
