Basketball in Alabama is accustomed to turnover.
A reconstructed roster created history by advancing to the Final Four, something no other Alabama team had ever done before.
A third member of the group made an entry into the transfer portal on Friday night, which may indicate that head coach Nate Oats may be making more roster adjustments.
Through Instagram, Davin Cosby Jr. declared his intention to use the portal. In his one and only season, the guard was a rotating player who moved through the lineup. His 3-point shooting produced a few impressive shots. Cosby was rated as a four-star player.
Cosby joined UA in time for their Sweet 16 run the previous season. Despite not being qualified, he was a member of the scout team and took part in team training.
Cosby averaged 3.6 points per game on 36.6% shooting in 22 games this season. On February 28, Cosby had a standout performance against Ole Miss, capitalizing on both the opportunity and Oats’ 3-point heavy approach.
With the Tide’s guard rotation exhausted, he tried ten 3-pointers. He was a part of a comeback that offered a peek of what Alabama may become; in the end, the squad made a historic run through some of the greatest players in the country.
Similar to Rylan Griffen and walk-on Max Scharnowksi, Cosby chose to look into possibilities for the future. Kris Parker, a redshirt freshman, also went through the gateway.
The Tide is said to be hosting Chris Youngblood of South Florida while they wait for two of their key guards, Mark Sears and Latrell Wrightsell Jr. He finished the 25-win USF season that ended in the NIT with an average of 15.3 points per game.
Houston Mallette, a guard transfer, has already been warmly welcomed by UA.
On A-Day, Nick Saban addresses Alabama football for the first time since his retirement.
In an odd, transitional A-Day for Alabama, Nick Saban hands the baton to Kalen DeBoer. Alabama takes advantage of a mistake and defeats No. 1 Arkansas in 10 innings.
Three-star wide receiver Lotzeir Brooks commits to Alabama football.
In the A-Day game, Germie Bernard demonstrates Alabama’s big-play potential.
