ROME OUTCOMES. Ben Shelton, Alexander Zverev, and Novak Djokovic triumph; Casper Ruud is unhappy

Ben Shelton, Novak Djokovic, and Alexander Zverev advanced to the third round in Rome on Friday. Casper Ruud felt agitated.

Currently ranked number one, Novak won his final match on May 10th in Rome, defeating world no. 83 Corentin Moutet 6-3, 6-1, in the second round (draw).

Djokovic currently has an overall win-loss record of 12-4 for this season. The most noteworthy accomplishment for Novak Djokovic this season has been reaching the Australian Open and Monte Carlo semifinals.


Alejandro Tabilo, ranked 32nd in the world, will square off against Novak Djokovic in the third round. They have never faced off against one another in major tournaments before.

In the third round, Alexander Zverev will square off against Luciano Darderi, who is ranked 54th in the world. As of right now, they have never faced off in major tournaments.

Ruud’s win-loss record for this year is 31-9 as of right now. In Barcelona, the Norwegian secured one championship. In Los Cabos, Acapulco, and Monte-Carlo, Casper reached the finals.

Next up for Ruud is a match in the Gonet Geneva Open in Geneva. He will start competing in the competition from the main draw, which opens on May 19.
