The New Orleans Saints have asked to interview Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron for their open offensive coordinator position, according to a report from NFL Insider Ian Rapoport on Wednesday.
The Saints have asked to speak with Waldron three times already this week. They also requested interviews with Los Angeles Rams quarterback coach Zac Robinson and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback coach Dan Pitcher earlier on Wednesday. As of yet, no formal interviews have occurred.
Pete Carmichael, the longtime offensive coordinator for New Orleans, was let go on Tuesday. Additionally, they fired senior offensive assistant Bob Bicknell and WR coach Kodi Burns.
For the past three seasons, Waldron, 44, has served as Seattle’s offensive coordinator. Following a 9-8 regular season finale, head coach Pete Carroll of the Seahawks was fired last week.
