When the boxing rich list is revealed, Tyson Fury makes less money than Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul.
Paul competed three times in 2018 and is now nearly thirty places higher on Sportico’s ranking of the world’s top 100 highest-paid athletes than heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
The heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has been surpassed by Jake Paul on the list of the top 100 highest-paid athletes in the world from the previous year.
Paul, a former YouTuber who is now a boxer, ranked 37th on the list released by Sportico, while Fury was ranked 64th, far down the list.
Paul made a staggering £29 million in total revenue for the year, with an additional £8 million coming from sponsorship. From his one bout, Fury made £25 million, and his sponsors gave him £6.3 million.
Paul battled in two huge battles last year. In February, he faced Fury’s brother Tommy and lost on points, which was his first boxing loss.
Before any further revenues from pay-per-view purchases, the social media sensation reportedly made up to £11 million from the battle, while Tommy earned about £3 million for winning.

Last year, Fury only engaged in one fight, losing to former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in an unexpected decision in their October crossover match.
The British fighter was anticipated to easily defeat Ngannou in order to get a unanimous decision bout with Oleksandr Usyk two months later. However, he had to get off the canvas in order to prevail in a contentious split decision.
After losing to Tommy in the summer, Paul got back on track by defeating Nate Diaz in a unanimous decision. Once more, The Problem Child made about £10 million from the bout and took home the same sum after his December KO victory over unheralded professional boxer Andre August.
Paul has received sponsorship money from his hugely successful sports betting software, Betr. He and entrepreneur Geoffrey Woo also co-founded the venture financing firm, Anti Fund.
With its line of protein bars and energy beverages, Fury’s sports nutrition brand, Furocity, saw a rise in sales last year.
