Francis Ngannou Eyes Anthony Joshua’s Title Fight After Tyson Fury-Usyk Postponement

Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury’s undisputed heavyweight title bout has been rescheduled after the former fighter’s cut was sustained during training camp.

In light of this, Frances Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion who is currently a boxer, proposed that his bout against Anthony Joshua on March 8 should be for the undisputed heavyweight title.

Currently, neither Ngannou nor Joshua are wearing a heavyweight title belt

In October of last year, Ngannou faced Fury in his professional boxing debut and gave it his all, but ultimately lost by split decision. He could very well hold boxing titles in the future.

Joshua previously held the heavyweight belts for the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO but lost them against Usyk in September 2021 after a unanimous decision. Eleven months later, he was defeated by a split decision in a rematch for the title.

As of right now, Fury is the WBC champion, but Usyk still has the titles he took from Joshua. Last August, he defeated Daniel Dubois via ninth-round knockout to keep the championship.

In the end, Fury vs. Usyk ought to be rescheduled eventually. In light of this, all eyes in the heavyweight division are now focused on Ngannou and Joshua, who will face off in five weeks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
