Oleksandr Usyk: I don’t feel bad about Joshua.
Champion Oleksandr Usyk has emphasized that British boxer Anthony Joshua, who was born in Nigeria, owes him no explanations.
Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua have progressed significantly. In 2022, the British boxer lost to the Ukrainian heavyweight champion twice in a row.
Following Usyk’s victory over Joshua in August 2022 in Saudi Arabia, the British fighter chose to remove Usyk’s belts from the ring, sparking a backlash.
In February, Anthony Joshua expressed regret for the incident and emphasized that he is human.
He continued, saying, I spoke to Wladimir [Klitschko] and told him, ‘Well done and I apologize.’ That’s man-to-man. I didn’t speak to Usyk.
However, it was quite raw; while it might not make sense to many, it made a great deal of sense to me and demonstrated, at least in part, how much it mattered.
I had imagined that feeling at the conclusion of my career, looking back and saying, Wow, what a rollercoaster, I made it through the trenches.
Oleksandr Usyk talked to Seconds Out on Anthony Joshua’s apologies before his May unification matchup with Tyson Fury.
The heavyweight boxer from Ukraine declared: I respect Joshua, so I don’t feel bad about him.
He’s a wonderful man. He is a multiple world, Olympic, and Olympic champion boxer.
