Anthony Joshua signed and accepted the offer of 978.9 million dollars for just a minute
When their bout in Saudi Arabia is over later this week, Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou will both be considerably wealthier.
Tens of millions of dollars are expected to go into both players’ accounts regardless of the outcome of this Friday’s competition between the two.
It’s a big fight for both guys; AJ wants to set himself up for a big 2024 where he wants to win the title once more, and his opponent wants to improve on his first-ever professional fight against Tyson Fury.
The world was shocked by the UFC legend’s ability to take down Fury before the latter narrowly lost by split decision.
Given that both guys have expressed their intention to be aggressive, it should be an exciting contest. When it’s over, they will both be significantly richer.
The official purse and prize money amounts are still pending confirmation. But one thing is certain: Ngannou and AJ will profit millions from this battle.
The Cameroonian is expected to receive $20 million, or approximately £16 million.
This battle would earn him twice as much as he did against Fury, making it by far the most lucrative bout of his career. The purse fee does not include any pay-per-view funds, winning or finishing the entire distance, or any fees.
Ngannou might therefore be able to make well over £20 million for just 30 minutes or less in the ring.
In the meantime, Joshua is expected to make the most money from this matchup. It’s reported that he will make about £40 million.
Once more, neither PPV costs nor any prospective prize money are included in this. Since these numbers have not yet been made public, things may slightly alter. But one thing is certain: Joshua will make a lot more money than Ngannou.
Although some may find this unjust, the British fighter has greater experience and is a previous two-time unified world champion; therefore, that makes him worth a higher price. Ngannou has only fought in two professional boxing matches thus far.
