Anthony Joshua should not have challenged Francis Ngannou to a fight, according to Johnny Nelson. What’s it gonna do to AJ’s head?
According to Johnny Nelson, talkSPORT, Anthony Joshua would have been better off not fighting Francis Ngannou next because the danger is too great for the benefit.
AJ was initially scheduled to take on Deontay Wilder, but these arrangements fell through when the Americans were defeated in December.
Since then, after the former UFC heavyweight champion’s incredible performance against Tyson Fury in October, he has committed to fight Ngannou on March 8.
Nelson, a former cruiserweight world champion, is concerned that Joshua’s legacy can be ruined by defeat if people only remember him for the shocking loss.
Nelson’s first remarks on the subject caused controversy, but on Thursday he provided clarification on White and Jordan, saying, Let me just get this straight: I stated it’s if Joshua loses to Ngannou in his second professional fight.
Despite everything Joshua, the former two-time heavyweight world champion, has accomplished, the public will only remember his defeat in his second professional fight, disregarding everything else.
