Anthony Joshua receives one piece of advice from his previous coach to defeat Francis Ngannou.
Angel Fernandez thinks that for Anthony Joshua to prevail in their fight next month, he would have to put Francis Ngannou on the back foot.
In addition to Rob McCracken for the first bout and Robert Garcia for the rematch, Fernandez was a member of the two squads that saw the British boxer fall to Oleksandr Usyk.
Since then, Joshua has tried his hand with Derrick James and Davison. Davison has appeared to be the most impressive; in December of last year, he stopped Otto Wallin.
On March 8, live on Because I make my own decisions, I know how to get the business contracts done, I do the largest PPVs, and I’m my own boss, so I can move and go wherever I want, Joshua will take on Ngannou in his native Saudi Arabia. In this sport, I am the new Floyd, so sure, everyone wants to fight me.
Speaking to Talksport, Fernandez talked about Joshua’s development under his new trainers, stating:
With fighters, you have to start to come back into confidence and belief a bit more in yourself. It will take him some time and progress to regain his confidence.
To return to his previous self, he needed to win two or three fights in between. Hopefully, Ben now gets AJ to say that.
He then said, Any fight is risky, especially against Ngannou, turning to the challenge that Ngannou had offered.
both excellent combatants. AJ’s strategy, in my opinion, is to employ distance, footwork, and sit behind the jab.
That doesn’t mean on the back foot, but in order for him to win, I think he needs to force Ngannou to fight on the back foot.
Because I am my own employer and can go wherever I like, I make my own judgments, know how to complete commercial contracts, and complete the largest PPVs. In this sport, I am the new Floyd, so sure, everyone wants to fight me.
