Joshua is my opponent, declares Mike Tyson.
Mike Tyson, a legend in boxing, is considering a shocking bout with Anthony Joshua.
In November, the former undisputed heavyweight champion will square off against Jake Paul in a contentious crossover match.
For his first return to the ring since his COVID fight with Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020, Iron Mike has prepared himself perfectly.
Though it would be a charity fight, the 57-year-old International Boxing Hall of Famer has big plans to share the ring with Joshua.
“I am very interested,” he said to TMZ when questioned about the possibility of sharing the ring with AJ for a worthy cause.
If carrying out that action enables us to increase our charitable contributions, then fine; I am willing to do that as well.
“I would love to fight Joshua. That would be mind-blowing.”
Before he can think of a charity clash with Joshua, Tyson must first get through YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul, who will be 31 years his junior on fight night.
And former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua admits he has concerns for Tyson’s health.
During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, the 34-year-old said, “He’s (Mike Tyson) older now.
“I hope he emerges unscathed. I believe that Jake Paul is the only one because of his youth.”
Boxing fans were incensed about Tyson vs. Paul’s booking and openly expressed their distaste for the latter.
It is surprising to learn that Joshua enjoys Paul’s gimmick-driven fights.
“In my opinion, it is really good,” he said.
“The reason the diehard boxing fans dislike it, in my opinion, is that they question why they are demeaning our sport.
Following a run of successful events organized by Turki Al-Alshikh in the past, speculation about who will be on the undercard of what is expected to be a card featuring Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium is rife as the official announcement approaches.
