Daniel Dubois vs. Anthony Joshua has not yet been approved for a world title bout, despite AJ hinting to a bout.
Discussions between Joshua and Dubois have taken place for a massive fight that was anticipated to be for the IBF world championship on September 21 at Wembley Stadium.
Currently holding the title, Oleksandr Usyk was about to lose it, but he submitted a request for an exemption in an attempt to cling onto the title until his rematch with Tyson Fury on December 21.
Regardless of the outcome, it was probable that a settlement would be reached before the contest to determine whether or not they would be competing for international recognition.
However, the IBF, who Sky Sports contacted, claims that they have not yet received a formal request to have the all-British fight approved for their heavyweight belt.
A June 26 press conference has been set for London, which would now offer teams a window of opportunity to get sanctioned for the world title match.
Joshua knocked me out in my fights against Fury and Haye, but none of them had a punch quite like “The Sniper.”
After “Dynamite” defeated Filip Hrgovic to emerge as the undisputed IBF mandatory challenger, negotiations were in progress to settle the best of British with him.
However, there were other contenders as well, including as Zhilei Zhang, who stopped Deontay Wilder via savage knockout.
In addition, Joseph Parker has called out AJ and is preparing a retaliation after losing to the former Olympian on points in March 2018.
“A lot of people want to fight Anthony Joshua,” he stated. I believe that after everything I’ve done, I will be able to combat him.
It’s not really about what I want and what he wants, to be honest. It’s what everyone else wants, and Saudi Arabia is rife with conflicts.
You can never predict how things will turn out. So let’s wait and see. We’ll have to wait and see.
“But Anthony Joshua is on your side. I let things unfold naturally, and when conflicts arise, they resolve themselves, and I’m prepared for anyone.”
Joshua is riding high after working with new trainer Ben Davison. He has viciously knocked out Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou.
Whatever his next opponent in September is, he will be hoping that his next fight in 2025 will be a chance to take on the victor of Usyk and Fury’s rematch.
