Arizona Cardinals reportedly sign former Lions offensive tackle

ALLEN Park Former offensive lineman Evan Brown of the Detroit Lions is joining his second new NFC West team in as many years. According to the NFL Network, Brown and the Arizona Cardinals have reached an agreement on a one-year, $2.35 million contract.

After two seasons and 24 starts, Brown switched to the Lions. After that, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks, where he started 16 games in his last season at center. Since Brown has demonstrated that he can handle guard and center responsibilities in the trenches, it is not shocking that the 27-year-old signs a big contract.

In his lone season in Seattle, the versatile lineman played 38 snaps at left guard and 917 at center. Both Brown and Hjalte Froholdt, who have starter-caliber guard skills and flexibility, will probably play for the center spot.

In addition, the Lions needed another offensive guard. However, they signed Pro Bowl offensive guard Kevin Zeitler to a one-year contract, and he proved to be the perfect fit for the starting lineup.

The 34-year-old started 15 games for the Baltimore Ravens last season and was selected for the Pro Bowl. Since 2015, Zeitler has participated in at least 15 games per season, making him one of the NFL’s finest interior pass blocks. He has also demonstrated his durability. Watch out as Graham Glasgow probably shifts to the left. Over the last 12 seasons, Zeitler has recorded the vast bulk of his work from right guard.

This plays to keep Detroit’s offensive line among the top in the league. But since Zeitler is starting his 13th year of college and his 34th season, it also means that selecting an offensive lineman in the April draft is still up in the air.
