Arkansas’s FAYETTEVILLE After losing Cam Little, the program’s all-time most accurate kicker, to the draft, Arkansas is looking to strengthen its special teams.
It’s Ramsey’s third team in three years, the Hogs. The Missouri City, Texas native attended Houston University for his first year of college before moving to Abilene Christian for the 2023 campaign.
He was 14 for 15 on field goal attempts at the end of the previous season, including 11 for 12 on efforts that were longer than 40 yards. On September 9, Ramsey recorded a season-high of 55 yards against Prairie View A&M.
Ramsey is the second kicker that special teams coordinator Scott Fountain and head coach Sam Pittman added through the portal.
Although Matthew Shipley, a 2023 Lou Groza semifinalist from Hawaii, had a mediocre spring season, the Razorbacks added him during the winter transfer window.
For the first time since Little arrived on campus in 2021, the Hogs will have to contend with a kicking competition in addition to redshirt senior Vito Calvaruso and freshman Charlie Von Der Meden.
