The minor league coaching and player development staff assignments for the 2024 season were released by the Orioles today. Two of the three return full-season managers are transferred to other affiliates.
For his third season back in charge of the Triple-A Norfolk Tides, Buck Br will return. He guided the Tides to a 90-59 record in 2023, when they won both
the Triple-A National Championship Game and the International League Championship. He received the Cal Ripken Sr. Player Development Award from the Orioles last season.
Roberto Mercado, who managed High-A Aberdeen for the previous two seasons, advances to Double-A Bowie. He led Aberdeen to the postseason and was awarded the Ripken Sr. Award in 2022.
Moving up to manage Aberdeen will be Felipe Rojas Alou Jr. Having spent the last two seasons managing Single-A Delmarva, he has 16 years of experience with the O’s system.
Pitching coach Justin Ramsey, who is starting his third season with Norfolk and sixth overall in the organization, will rejoin Britton’s staff in Norfolk. In addition

hire and alumnus of the University of Maryland, was the assistant hitting coach for Triple-A Worcester (Red Sox) in 2023 before taking a position as hitting
coach at Norfolk. Ramón Sambo, the fundamentals coach, is back in his position, as is Joshua Rodrigues, the development coach. Sambo is in his fifth season in Norfolk and his 18th with the O’s. Alan Rail is the athletic trainer, and Jon Medici is in charge of strength and conditioning. Adam Sehlmeyer is back in his role as
clubhouse manager, and Seth Ellanson has been promoted to assistant athletic trainer.
Austin Meine, who worked as pitching coach for the IronBirds the previous season, has joined the Baysox at Bowie. Josh Bunselmeyer, the hitting coach, leaves
Delmarva. Bowie is joined from Aberdeen by development coach Billy Facteau and fundamentals coach Chase Sebby. Julio Ibarra is their athletic trainer.
Weinberg is back as the clubhouse manager, and Sam Sauer is back as the strength and conditioning coach.
