Following the team’s most recent turf modification, NFL supporters have been dreading the worst for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

The Bengals were the final NFL team to use turf with slits in it.

The NFL and NFLPA have disclosed data indicating that non-contact lower-body injuries on slit-film grass were more common than on other synthetic surfaces.

Cincinnati has made the decision to install FieldTurf Core, an NFL surface that is also utilized by the New York Jets and New York Giants, among other teams.

On Thursday, the plan was authorized by Hamilton County commissioners and the Bengals.

Paycor Stadium managing director Steve Johnson stated in a statement via ESPN, “Hamilton County and the Bengals are committed to delivering a top-level playing field for NFL games, and this step underscores that commitment.”

Though Burrow will be playing on the same synthetic turf that Jets star Aaron Rodgers tore his left Achilles tendon on in Week 1 of the previous season, supporters are nonetheless concerned about Burrow getting hurt.

Someone else remarked, “We’re actually regressing. Not more MetLife turf, but real grass, was what we desired.

The Bengals are not among the top eight competing clubs.

As the offseason gets underway, the Cincinnati Bengals seem like a club with a very huge championship window.

However, it’s debatable where the Bengals are in terms of possibilities to be in contention right now.

For instance, the Bengals are not included in Bucky Brooks’ list of the top eight biggest Super Bowl windows currently available, which was released by NFL.com.

The list includes well-known teams like the Chiefs and Ravens. However, organizations like the Browns, Jets, and Packers are nearing the bottom.

The Bengals’ omission from the top eight (and even the top ten?) is intriguing, but there’s no denying they have important work ahead of them this summer.

Cincinnati must resolve the Tee Higgins situation, probably improve the offensive line, deal with severe defensive depth concerns, and hope that a very young secondary makes the next move.

But in the postseason, Joe Burrow is the Bengals’ most valuable asset. One could argue that they ought to be in the top eight if he’s healthy.
