Zimmer oversaw some fierce defensive play from the Bengals.

 

Cincinnati —Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that the Dallas Cowboys are replacing Dan Quinn with Mike Zimmer, the former defensive coordinator of the Bengals, in the same position.Since his departure as head coach of the Vikings in 2021, Zimmer has not been a head coach in the league.

From 2008 to 2013, he oversaw defensive strategy for the Bengals. Before spending a season in Atlanta, the seasoned coach was employed by the Cowboys from 1994 to 2006, when he also served as defensive coordinator from 2000 to 2006.

In six seasons, his Bengal defenses only twice finished outside the top 10 in the NFL in terms of points allowed.

Cincinnati —Justin Rascati was hired by the Bengals on Thursday morning to coordinate the pass game. Jordan Kovacs was promoted to secondary/safeties coach and Brad Kragthorpe to quarterbacks coach.

 

Dan Pitcher steps down as offensive coordinator and is replaced by Kragthorpe in the quarterback’s room. Kragthorpe has worked for the team for the previous five years, serving as the assistant coach for the quarterbacks in 2023.

Robert Livingston, who is anticipated to be appointed Colorado’s next defensive coordinator, is being replaced by Kovacs in the interim. Kovacs has also worked for Zac Taylor for the previous five seasons.

He was the defensive quality control coach from 2019 to 21 and the assistant linebackers coach for the last two seasons (2022–2023).

Rascati served as an assistant offensive line coach in Minnesota for the previous two seasons. He was also the quality control coach for the Broncos for two seasons.
