LATEST BMW TECH IN ACTION

Since its first release, the BMW XM has become as a favorite vehicle among tuning firms. Described as the most powerful M vehicle ever, this drama queen has had body kit after body kit installed. The moment has arrived for Renegade Design to provide specifics about its XM variant. The stock can be referred to as anything but subdued. That’s perhaps why it became so contentious; some even went so far as to claim that it was offensive to introduce the first vehicle designed wholly by the M division since the legendary M1 of 1978.
Whatever the case, one thing is certain. The XM had been enjoying its endless moments of attention, and it refused to leave the stage. Tuning houses refuse to allow it. Mansory, Venuum, and Larte Design have all been developing own interpretations of the model.

Renegade Design is now detailing the super BMW’s body package. It turns out they had more to show than the August display they made last year.

Carbon fiber coverings for everything that can be covered are the creation of Renegade Design. Beginning at the top, there is a front splitter made of carbon fiber beneath the hexagon-shaped radiator grille, which is likewise made of carbon fiber and has a gold surround to contrast with it. There was a carbon fiber cover on the hood.

It is wider than the factory car thanks to carbon fiber fender flares, which makes space for the multi-spoke HRE wheels.

Mirror caps, side skirts, and door sills are all styled with the same material, and the car’s back end reveals the same information: the look-at-me roof spoiler, exhaust trims, and rear bumper air diffuser are all constructed of… Other than carbon fiber, what else?

No suspension change is disclosed by Renegade Design. However, the BMW XM continues to sit lower than it did when it came off the assembly line, just like it did last summer.

The XM checks off a lot of firsts, including becoming the first M vehicle to be electrified. The team refrained from entering the engine bay, as Renegade Design held no objections to it. Accordingly, the plug-in hybrid XM retains the 483 horsepower (489 metric horsepower) and 480 pound-feet of torque that come from its stock 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine.

An electric motor, included into the high-speed ZF automatic transmission, provides aid to the V8. There are 644 horsepower (653 metric horsepower) and 590 pound-feet (800 Newton meters) altogether because of the 194 horsepower (197 metric horsepower) and 207 pound-feet (281 Newton meters) that the e-motor contributes to the equation. In the event that we are referring to the Label version, we have 738 horsepower (748 metric horsepower) available.

That will allow you to run from zero to sixty miles per hour (0 to 97 kph) in 4.1 seconds. The Label version runs in a mere 3.8 seconds.

The car’s Sakhir orange interior, which contrasts with the white body and carbon fiber, makes it even more intriguing.

Renegade Design will initially only make ten of these body kits; further ones may be produced in response to demand. The body upgrade will cost extra, as the tuning business does not specify how much it would cost. The BMW XM’s MSRP is $159,000. Those who choose the top-of-the-line Label version will have to pay $185,000 just for the car.
