Breaking news: Jaylen clark of Boise state is arrested due to……..

With a few noteworthy exceptions, the Boise State football team was on the field on Monday morning for their first spring practice of the season.

According to a program spokeswoman, cornerback Jaylen Clark has left the team as of Monday.

Following his arrest in January, Clark, 21, is accused with two felonies, including attempted strangulation and aggravated assault, two misdemeanors, battery suspicion, and false imprisonment.

The charges resulted from an investigation into an alleged domestic assault incident that was started by the Boise Police Department on December 17, 2023.

Clark, according to police, was charged with using physical aggression against a woman on July 28, 2023, following a verbal argument.

According to authorities, the woman made multiple attempts to leave the house but was prevented by Clark, who eventually took a knife and pursued her. The woman was able to leave once Clark eventually left the house, according to the investigators.

On January 11, Clark was freed on a $25,000 bond, according to court documents. He has a plea conference set for March 29 at the Ada County Courthouse at 2:30 p.m. Last season, Clark started 13 games for the Broncos and recorded 54 tackles along with one interception.

Howard Brown, a defensive tackle, did not show up for practice on Monday either. A school spokesman said that while he is still on the Boise State roster, he is not with the team because of “eligibility issues.

Due to an NCAA investigation into his behavior while playing football at Iowa State, Brown was declared ineligible to compete last autumn. Although Boise State filed an appeal, Brown was never allowed to play.

Brown was one of eight players charged in August of last year as part of a sports betting investigation involving Iowa and Iowa State athletes, according to a statement released by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation on February 1.

Authorities added that when they bet on sporting events using accounts belonging to other persons, they were all charged with tampering with records.

According to a story from The Gazette in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, seven of them, including Brown, have pled guilty to a lesser crime of underage gambling and have been fined $645. According to court records, on September 18, 2023, Brown entered a guilty plea in Story County, Iowa.

According to the authorities, Brown wagered $815 on 67 different mobile wagers, one of which was on a football game that his own team lost to Texas Tech in 2022.

According to The Gazette, Brown wagered on the Red Raiders to defeat the Cyclones at the money line, but they were defeated 14–10.
