Boston — When the Hurricanes scored the game-winning goal late in the game, Bruins coach Jim Montgomery appeared furious on the bench. By the time he arrived at the press conference following the game, he was still irate.
After his team’s five-game winning streak was ended by a 3-2 loss, he commented, “The game management at the end of the game was not good.”
Montgomery was frustrated that in a tie game, defensemen Brandon Carlo and Hampus Lindholm were playing too far up on offense which allowed Jordan Martinook to get behind them for the breakaway that he converted for the game-winning goal.
