Sad news: Joe Mazzulla and the NBA are broken as the Boston Celtics blew a 22-point lead in the fourth quarter to lose to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

CLEVELAND, OH, March 5: At Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, on March 5, 2024, the Cleveland Cavaliers celebrate following their game against the Boston Celtics.

Tuesday night, the Boston Celtics lost 105-104 to the Cleveland Cavaliers after blowing a 22-point lead in the fourth quarter. This ended the longest winning streak in NBA history.
The blow abruptly ended the Celtics’ 11-game winning run, as Joe Mazzulla’s team appeared to be in total control of the contest.

However, superstar Jayson Tatum, who finished the game with 26 points and 8-21, struggled mightily for the Celtics in the fourth quarter, finishing just 1-9.

On Thursday night, the Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets will play in what many are projecting to be the 2024 NBA Finals. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Dean Wade put in an incredible fourth-quarter rally to end the Celtics’ 11-game winning streak. The Cavs’ victory deprived the Celtics of their chance to start the game on a winning note.

In contrast, Dean Wade lit up the Cavaliers, going 7-7 off the bench and going 5-5 from beyond the arc for a game of 23 points after coming off the bench.
Regarding the performance’s place in his career, Wade responded, “It rates very high.” It was satisfying. The rim appeared to be quite large.
Regarding the Celtics, the message was to clean up some sloppiness instead of freaking out in front of what might be a preview of the NBA Finals against the Denver Nuggets, the reigning champs, on Thursday night.
“We are a far better squad than we showed tonight, in my opinion. “Today was simply a mentality defeat,” Jaylen Brown clarified.
It was more of a mentality issue than an X-O one because we had the game and then settled down. We just need to be a more militant and disciplined squad. That’s not who we were. We sensed that today, like we always do, and I believe that’s what allowed them to rejoin the game.”We were a little too casual with the ball and had a somewhat looser mentality. We did not mean to cause offense. We sort of allowed guys to develop tendencies that we were meant to break. We surrendered offensive rebounds—things that are just a matter of thinking.
LeBron’s Lakers defeat Thunder Green, and Lillard shines as the Bucks continue their winning run. The Warriors had only fifteen minutes to prepare their defense before losing to the Celtics handily.
Whether or not everyone wants to discard it, we must examine the movie and deal with some issues since they are important now. It all comes down to your behavior. Your mindset is crucial. Additionally, you are not allowed to waste any time or possessions throughout a game. Thus, today is significant. We must examine that.
Tatum agreed with his teammate, but he also stated that he believed he was fouled on a jump shot that had the potential to win the game.
“It was regrettable; I believed I was fouled, but they always say the last play decides whether the game is won or lost,” Tatum remarked.
“We were in that situation because of a number of things that we didn’t accomplish properly in the fourth quarter.”
After Cavaliers coach J.B. Bickerstaff challenged the call, which had been first issued as a foul, it was reversed.

  • On Tuesday night, the Denver Nuggets suffered a loss as well, falling to the Phoenix Suns 117-107 in overtime despite 35 points from Kevin Durant.
The Suns took a while to get going since they were without Josh Okogie, Devin Booker, Nassir Little, and Damion Lee. However, they overcame the Nuggets in overtime thanks to points from Durant and Bradley Beal.
After Durant knotted the score with a floater, Nikola Jokic (25 points, 16 rebounds, and five assists) appeared to have the opportunity to win the game in regulation. However, his attempt went wide.
  • Jamal Murray, a teammate, remarked later, “I’ve seen [Jokic] make that 95 times out of 100.” Everyone believed it was going in.
The Nuggets’ own winning run, which had reached six games, came to an end, and Murray expressed his dissatisfaction at the conclusion.
“This game is very winnable. “It might be among our worst defeats to date,” he remarked.
    It’s difficult. It’s simply difficult.
Luka Doncic scored his fourth straight triple-double in Dallas, but it was unable to stop the Indiana Pacers from defeating the Mavericks 137-120.
Along with Russell Westbrook and Oscar Robertson, Doncic became only the third player in history to record four consecutive games.
The last player to have five consecutive is the only one in league history.
