After leaving the Celtics, Jayson Tatum and Joe Mazzulla gave praise to Ime Udoka.
The former head coach of Boston was suspended for the entire season for having improper contact with a female employee.
The Celtics announced this week that Joe Mazzulla has been promoted to permanent head coach.
Ime Udoka was suspended for the whole season after having improper contact with a female staff member.
Sports Illustrated was informed by a source that Udoka is no longer employed by Boston in any capacity. It was widely anticipated that this would happen.
Days before training camp, Mazzulla assumed temporary leadership and has flourished as head coach.
With an NBA-best record of 42–17 going into the All-Star break, Mazzulla and his staff were given the chance to coach Team Giannis in the NBA All-Star game.
Mazzulla, one of the few remaining members of Brad Stevens’s staff, thanked Udoka for teaching him valuable lessons during Saturday’s All-Star media availability.
Mazzulla stated, “He didn’t have to keep me on when he was hired.” “He had faith in people.
“I was grateful for that. In the NBA, Brad and Ime are the only two people I have ever worked for.
I wouldn’t be at ease in this circumstance right now if I didn’t have both of them.
