Nia Long says she’ll need all the help she can get after being caught off guard by her fiance, Celtics Coach Ime Udoka… who, we’ve found, kept her in the dark about his affair even after the team exposed him months ago.
Sources close to the team and couple told TMZ… Nia had only relocated to Boston two weeks ago with Kez, her 10-year-old son with Ime, and the couple was looking for a house.
The unfortunate twist for Nia is that when she relocated, Ime was already well aware that his affair with a married front office member was likely to explode. We’re told Ime was aware of the incident and was conducting an investigation as early as July.
Meanwhile, we’re told Nia only found out about it in the last two days, and only because Ime was aware it was due to go public.
Nia tells TMZ, via her representative Shannon Barr, “The outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and the community during this difficult time means a lot to me. I beg that my
privacy be maintained while I comprehend the recent occurrences. Above everything, I am a mother, and I will continue to prioritize my children.
On Thursday night, the Celtics officially suspended him for the full 2022–2023 season.
In response, Ime stated, “I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for disappointing them.” I apologise for placing the team in this tough situation, and I accept their choice. I will not make any further comments out of respect for everyone concerned.
