Bills’ two new WRs reveal what made QB Josh Allen so ‘upset’ with them at the OTAs and…

Buffalo Bills

Both of them have experienced some success and have played alongside several NFL quarterbacks.

Even though veteran quarterback Marquez Valdes-Scantling and veteran quarterback Chase Claypool haven’t played for the Buffalo Bills in almost a month, they immediately seem at ease in their new surroundings. Josh Allen, the team’s field general, and the two newest receivers, who will battle for a slot in a packed room, seem to be getting along well already.

“Josh Allen, he’s a really cool guy,” Claypool remarked at an OTAs media scrum. “A pleasant mix of humor and seriousness at times. You can focus and focus, but after that, laugh with him. It’s very amazing.”

Former second-round draft pick Claypool is the epitome of a low-risk, perhaps high-reward addition. Buffalo will add Claypool after the draft to see if he can replicate his 2020 rookie season success of 11 touchdowns as a Steelers player.

The Bills signed Valdes-Scantling shortly after inking Claypool, adding another tall target with deep ball talent to the roster. He enjoyed supper at Allen’s house and apparently made the decision to sign with Buffalo.

Josh is simply so typical. “That’s the most exciting thing about it,” the speaker declared at Orchard Park on Tuesday during a media availability. It goes without saying that some individuals have egos when they’re among the league’s best quarterbacks. I have played with quarterbacks who have all lacked those. Thus, the most thrilling aspect of seeing a guy of that caliber simply be a regular guy was that.”

Former Green Bay Packers fifth-round pick Valdes-Scantling began his NFL career collecting passes from four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers. He later moved to Kansas City, where he and Patrick Mahomes won consecutive Super Bowls.
