The Buffalo Bills quickly revealed Stefon Diggs’ previous phone number. Wideout Chase Claypool, who was just acquired by the Bills, will don No. 14, which Diggs wore throughout his four-year tenure with the team. The announcement was made on Saturday.

It’s safe to assume that Claypool, who has been dealt by the Steelers in 2022, won’t have the same effect in Buffalo as Diggs did. Claypool has been all over the league. The wide receiver for the Houston Texans was a Pro Bowl player during his four seasons in Buffalo. The Bills won four straight AFC East division titles at that time.

During that time, Diggs and Josh Allen formed a very successful partnership. After Diggs was traded, Allen got in touch with his former teammate.

“Just thanking him for everything that he did for me,” stated Allen. “I’ll always have a spot in my heart for him and I’ll always love him like a brother and wish him nothing but the best.”

Even with Diggs gone, Buffalo still has weapons at his disposal. Keon Coleman, a former wide receiver for Florida State, was chosen by the Bills in the second round of the NFL Draft last week. Along with former Commander Curtis Samuel, Khalil Shakir, a fifth-round pick in 2022, and veterans Claypool and Mack Hollins, Buffalo has a strong receivers room.

Diggs is headed to Houston, where he will team up with C.J. Stroud, who is coming off what is maybe the best rookie season in NFL history for a quarterback, while the Bills attempt to succeed without him.

The Texans have strengthened their squad this season with the addition of Diggs, defensive ends Danielle Hunter and Derek Barnett, and running back Joe Mixon, following their unexpected run to the AFC divisional round.
