The Buffalo Bills have five primary criteria that need to be met in order for them to be Super Bowl contenders.
Buffalo must make the most of the draft.
Fans seem to scoff at me every time I recommend that Brandon Beane and the Bills choose a player with all ten of their draft picks.
I get that Beane enjoys trading up in the first round, and I don’t see that changing, but Buffalo can make a lot of money by using all ten selections and filling some needs with rookie deals instead of paying exorbitant free agents.
This upcoming season, Coach McDermott must rely on a few rookies and give them the freedom to pick up skills quickly. It will eventually pay off, but there will be some hiccups along the way.
Among other positions, wide receiver is one of the most talented positions in the 2024 NFL Draft. There are also a few strong safeties and defensive tackles.
Although the class of edge rushers isn’t perfect, they can still add some very excellent talent to the defensive tackle, receiver, and safety positions in rounds two through five if they choose to go with edge in the first round.
Buffalo will have choices, but the more options you have, the more likely it is that you will win the lotto and select a few jewels in the draft.
