Breaking news: The coach of the Indiana Fever talks about Caitlin Clark’s violent outburst during practice.

One of the main factors that makes Caitlin Clark such a fantastic basketball player is her competitive nature.

This weekend’s ESPN+ “Full Court Press” documentary series included Clark’s parents making hints about her competitive temperament stemming from the fact that she grew up playing with two brothers.

Clark has maintained her competitive spirit far into adulthood, having played with the Indiana Fever. Clark attempted a three-point shot at practice on Sunday that was intended to resemble a buzzer-beater that would win the game.

Exasperated, Clark spun around immediately after the shot missed and whacks a cushioned sidewall.

Christie Sides, the head coach of the Indiana Fever, spoke with the media following the practice and addressed Clark’s outburst. Regarding her squad, Sides remarked, “They’re all really competitive, and that’s what is going to drive us.”

Our spirit of competitionn” went on. We want to be the squad in the gym that works the hardest and is the most competitive. We were working on certain late-game things, and they wanted to win everything. Furthermore, [Clark] was not given the opportunity.”

“[Clark’s] going to get those shots, and she’s going to hit ’em,” stated Sides in closing. We are going to provide her with that chance. Clearly, the Fever head coach believes in her standout player.
