Fans Are Saying The Same Thing About Caitlin Clark After Massive Fever Trade……

The Indiana Fever had a busy Friday as WNBA free agency begins, picking up two key pieces to the roster, which already consists of the All-Star trio of Caitlin Clark fans, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell. The Fever started the day off with the signing of former Wings forward and 2019 Defensive Player of the Year Natasha Howard.

But Indiana wasn’t done then. Later, a three-team trade was revealed that sent Fever forward NaLyssa Smith to the Wings and Phoenix Mercury shooting guard Sophie Cunningham to Indy. Cunningham has proven a solid shooting threat during her six seasons in Phoenix. In 2024, she averaged 8.4 points on 37.8% from three and has maxed out at 12.6 points and 41.0 from three. Her solid shooting ability, mixed with Clark’s playmaking skills, could prove lethal for opposing defenses.

WNBA fans were left excited about the Cunningham trade, taking to social media to share similar reactions on Clark and her new backcourt running mate. “I now may be one of the biggest Fever fans. Soph and the Goat going to be an insane combo,” one fan said.

“Fever got another very good 3-pt shooter which helps spread the floor for Caitlin to do her thing,” added another. “Our girl Sophie and Caitlin Clark on the same team,” wrote a third. “Sophie about to be in the same team as Caitlin Clark? This is about to be interesting!” commented a fourth. “Sophie Cunningham is a perfect fit for Caitlin Clark. All she has to do is sit in the corner and shoot 3s and Caitlin will find her,” posted a fifth.

“I’m not sure if people realize how loud and spicy the Fever are about to be with Clark and Cunningham. It’s like matched energy,” added a sixth.

New coach Stephanie White certainly has many options to work with in her first season with the Fever. They will tip off the 2025 season on May 17 against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky.
