In less than two hours in Buenos Aires, world number two Alcaraz fell to the 28-year-old Chilean, who is ranked 19 places lower in the ATP rankings, 7-6 (2) 6-3.
In the opening set, which he won in a tie-break, Jarry did not face a break point when serving, and in the second set, he broke Alcaraz in the eighth game that mattered most.
World No. 21 Jarry will play Facundo Diaz Acosta in the Sunday championship match after the Argentine wild card defeated Federico Coria, 6-2, 6-3.
After winning Wimbledon last summer, Jarry defeated Alcaraz for the first time on his third try, extending the Spaniard’s winless streak to nine events.
In the ABN AMRO Open semi-finals in Rotterdam, Jannik Sinner defeated Tallon Griekspoor and is now poised to win his second straight championship.
Returning to action this week after winning the Australian Open, Sinner defeated local favorite Griekspoor 6-2, 6-4, and will now face Alex de Minaur in the Sunday final.

Carlos Alcaraz moving up the Juventus hierarchy Against Frosinone, may he start?
Even if Juventus had yet another dismal night, Carlos Alcaraz appears to be moving up the ladder.
The 21-year-old completed a loan from Southampton with the option to buy at the end of the season to join the Bianconeri late in January.
The Argentine made his debut a few weeks ago at San Siro during the Derby d’Italia loss to Inter.
Alcaraz made a longer appearance versus Hellas Verona yesterday, coming on in the 66th minute to take Kenan Yildiz’s place. He leaned to the right and played as an attacking midfielder behind the striker.
Tuttosport via IlBianconero claims that the young player’s introduction indicates that he is moving up the ranks.
For example, Fabio Miretti, who plays a similar position, was benched as Max Allegri turned to him in his quest for a winner.
The insider said that despite not being able to change the outcome, Alcaraz appeared to be in a more mentally free state than his teammates, who seemed to be stuck in second gear.
Thus, the Turin-based publication speculates that the Southampton loanee might compete for a starting position the following weekend.
The Argentine is expecting to be chosen right away when the Bianconeri take on Frosinone at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday.
It would be interesting to watch which player in this scenario is removed from the starting lineup to make room for Alcaraz.
Weston McKennie and Filip Kostic might be traded like for like, or McKennie might be switched to the flank and Filip Kostic be dropped.
