Joe Burrows Communicates with Jermaine Burton, the New Bengals Receiver
In the 2024 NFL Draft, the Bengals selected Burton with the 80th overall choice.
CINCINNATI—Jermaine Burton was chosen by the Bengals with the 80th overall choice in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Joe Burrow was quick to get in touch with his newest wide-out. Shortly after being selected by the Bengals, the great quarterback texted his rookie receiver.
“This is Joey B. The text said, “Whenever you’re free, reach out to me and we can work on some projects,” according to Bengals.com’s Geoff Hobson.
Burrow might have the most explosive weapons he’s ever had since joining the NFL in 2020, so don’t look now.
While Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are well-known, Burton provides them with another downfield winner. At Alabama, he averaged 20.5 yards per catch the previous season. The three should exert a lot of force on the defenses of the opposition.

2024 NFL Draft selections of the Cincinnati Bengals: Fits, grades, and scouting reports
On April 25, the Cincinnati Bengals made their three-day NFL Draft debut with 10 selections.
Amarius Mims, an offensive tackle from Georgia, was selected by the Bengals with the No. 18 overall choice on Thursday. Mims, who is 6-7 and 340 pounds, is the kind of big offensive tackle that the Bengals have always liked. Despite his lack of experience and few starts at Georgia, he won’t be expected to start straight away because there is Orlando Brown Jr. at left tackle and veteran Trent Brown, who recently signed, on the right side. Cincinnati is hoping that Mims will keep quarterback Joe Burrow safe for a long time.
On Friday, the Bengals took care of a few things. With choice No. 49, they selected Michigan defensive tackle Kris Jenkins, and the national champion Wolverines could fill the vacuum created by D.J. Reader’s free agency departure. They selected Jermaine Burton, a wide receiver from Alabama, with the 80th pick in the third round. The vertical threat posed by the speedster should be helpful to a squad that needs big plays. At pick No. 97, they made a defensive turn and selected defensive tackle McKinnley Jackson of Texas A&M. Although that was far early than Jackson’s draft predictions, Cincinnati felt compelled to step up after not giving the position enough attention in free agency.
