Joe Burrow is out for the season as the NFL looks into the Bengals’ decision to omit him from the injury report.
Coach Zac Taylor stated that the quarterback left Thursday’s game against the Ravens early because he tore a ligament in his wrist.
Joe Burrow will miss the rest of the NFL season due to an injury.
The Cincinnati Bengals declared on Friday that the quarterback will miss the entirety of the 2023–24 campaign because of a
The NFL is reportedly looking into the Bengals as a result of the injury revelation, which coincides with Burrow’s early departure from Thursday’s game due to wrist soreness he sustained following a score in the second quarter. The 26-year-old quarterback did not eventually return to the field; instead, he warmed up on the sidelines.
Burrow’s season was prematurely ended by his coach, Zac Taylor, at a news conference on Friday. The injury was described as “acute” and occurred “probably on the play before his last one.”Burrow tore a ligament in his wrist, which will “probably require surgery and necessitate him to be out for the remainder of the season,” according to Taylor’s explanation.
Taylor told reporters, “[He’s] clearly quite sad because he likes leading this club and realizes the chances that lay ahead of us.” “But once more, he’s reacting well. Only what you have power over is in your control. His next task for us is to carry on leading this team in a different capacity.”
Jake Browning, the quarterback who came into play during the Bengals’ 34-20 loss to Baltimore on Thursday, is now the team’s main focus.
The news conference is being held two days after Burrow was seen leaving the team bus with what seems to be a cast on his hand in a video that the Bengals organization uploaded, according to ESPN. As per the league’s regulations, the publication is now claiming that the NFL will look into why Burrow was not included on the Bengals’ injury report before the game.
Although Burrow’s ailment became evident when he faltered to complete a touchdown pass to Joe Mixon for four yards on his final play, the Bengals organization’s video footage from Wednesday suggested they were aware of Burrow’s wrist problems before the game. The video was then taken off social media after WCPO published it again on X (previously Twitter), slowing down and zooming in to reveal Burrow holding something in his hand.
When Burrow showed up for the game on Thursday, he was noticeably without a cast on his hand.
