Nikola Jokic speaks out following the Nuggets’ disappointing postseason run.
The Denver Nuggets were defeated by the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals after an incredible comeback triumph.
The Serbian Nikola Jokic-led Denver Nuggets were hoping to win the series, but the Minnesota Timberwolves surprised them and knocked them out of the NBA playoffs. The series was prolonged, and in the seventh game, momentum shifted in favor of the Minnesota squad.
With Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards serving as the team’s standard bearers during these playoffs, the T-Wolves overcame a 15-point deficit to win the game 98-90 in the closing minutes. Minnesota is making its first trip back to the conference finals since 2004.
Jokic commends Minnesota
The Nuggets, the previous year’s champions, were extremely disappointed not to advance to the conference finals, as three-time MVP Nikola Jokic acknowledged on social media:
Indeed. I believe their roster speaks for itself—they are designed to defeat us.They essentially have two All-Stars, the two players on the All-Defensive First Team, and Mike Conley, who is arguably the most underappreciated player in the NBA. Really, I adore the man. Even if he didn’t shoot all that well in this series, he is so skilled that he always makes the proper plays. He was their best rebounder in the game in a split second, the Serbian claimed.
Regarding whether the Timberwolves and Nuggets are rivals, Nikola Jokic said, “Yes.” They seem to be designed to outwit us. They essentially have two All-Stars, two members of the All-Defensive First Team, and Mike Conley, who is arguably the most underappreciated player in the NBA. I adore the man.
“They have the Sixth Player of the Year coming off the bench… They have the talented Kyle Anderson and Neil Alexander Walker; therefore, they’re good. They truly are capable of anything. They can be large or small, so he continued.
