Cameron Sutton, a cornerback with the Detroit Lions, was cut this week following rumors of a domestic abuse arrest warrant.
The Hillsborough County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office verified it by declaring that Sutton was wanted for a suspected strangulation domestic abuse.
The Lions released a statement saying, “We became aware of the ongoing legal situation involving Cam Sutton.”
“We’ll keep an eye on the situation and won’t be making any more comments at this time.”
Yesterday, the Lions severed their connection with the CB due to Sutton’s recent $33 million three-year contract.
Last season, he started all 17 games during the regular season and all three postseason games.
The Pittsburgh Steelers were his NFL home for the first six years.
