Breaking news: Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff is ranked the NFL’s highest-paid player, after the lions offer to…

Jared Goff is the NFL’s second-highest-paid player, according to reports, after the Lions offered him a large extension.

The Detroit Lions are huge supporters of quarterback Jared Goff.

According to two people involved with the negotiations, the team and the quarterback reached a four-year, $212 million contract agreement, as reported by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press and USA TODAY Network. The individuals discussed the financial aspects of the agreement, which was not yet formal, under the condition of anonymity because they were not permitted to do so. In addition, $170 million is guaranteed by the agreement.

Goff now ranks second in the NFL in terms of average yearly value, earning less than Joe Burrow, the quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, who inked a $275 million, five-year contract deal in September.

Goff, 29, assisted in leading the Lions to their first division crown in thirty years and their first postseason triumph since 1992 in 2023. At a career-high 67.3% completion percentage, he completed 4,575 yards of passing for 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

With a four-year, $120 million contract in April, the Lions made Amon-Ra St. Brown the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL at the time. A.J. Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles later broke the record when he signed a three-year, $92 million contract.

All of the Lions’ 2024 season tickets have been sold out.

The Detroit Lions’ fan base is getting more and more excited. The Lions have sold out every season ticket for the past two seasons.

When the team’s schedule is made public later this week, a select few single-game tickets will go on sale, but it’s too late for those wishing to purchase season tickets. Following the team’s first-ever NFC North Division title and trip to the NFC Championship Game, that was a predictable development.

According to Detroit Lions Chief Operating Officer Mike Disner, “Our Lions loyal members are the lifeblood of our fandom and the true foundation of our amazing home field advantage,” the organization said in a statement. “We are happy to announce that our memberships are completely sold out, and we invite interested fans to sign up for the waitlist in order to have the best chance of seeing our games at Ford Field in 2025 and beyond.”
