A essential addition has been made at quarterback by the Detroit Lions ahead of their practice on Monday night. The Lions have acquired Jake Fromm to their roster in a series of roster movements as Hendon Hooker remains sidelined due to a concussion sustained in the preseason opener.

The Buffalo Bills selected Fromm in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Georgia. After being traded to the New York Giants in the 2021 season, he has only appeared in three games. Fromm completed two starts with one touchdown and three interceptions, one of which was a pick-six. The Washington Commanders were his previous group.

Linebacker Ty Summers, who has been in and out of the NFL since 2019, is the other new member to the roster. Summer played in 15 games, all on special teams, with the New Orleans Saints most recently.

The Lions also cut Antoine Green, a wide receiver in his second season. During the first preseason game, the North Carolina native and 2023 seventh-round pick sustained a head injury.

Veteran OL Ike Boettger was also released by Detroit.
