The tackle that Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph made on Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee has drawn criticism.

Higbee’s night was cut short when Joseph hit a low pass, and the Lions went on to win at Ford Field against the Rams.

The skilled safety for Detroit resorted to social media to defend himself after making it further in the postseason for the first time in his career.

“ALL SERIOUSNESS …. THIS GAME WE PLAY IS VERY DANGEROUS…. I’m praying for bro and his family I don’t have no intention to hurt no body and or harm their career,” Joseph posted. “I been a mf dog since I came out my mama womb and nun of y’all on here gone take that away from me #GODBLESS.”

After the game, quarterback Jared Goff, who is good friends with Higbee, went to see how his injured friend was doing.

“He’s one of my best friends, of course,” Goff remarked. It hurts that he suffered the kind of injuries he did. It’s difficult for me to witness that from the sidelines. And I’m confident that he’ll be OK. I have no idea what he will do in the end, but I know he will be okay and that I adore him.

Online, linebacker Alex Anzalone defended Joseph, saying the 23-year-old didn’t need to make any public apologies.

Anzalone remarked, “Don’t even need to comment on it.” “It’s how the league office asks us to tackle.”

Matthew Stafford should not have placed the ball in a position that would have put the gifted tight end in danger, according to C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
