You never want to see a player suffer harm, whether you love them or despise them. Emmanuel Moseley, a cornerback with the Detroit Lions, has sustained major injuries for three straight seasons. All of these wounds have made it impossible for him to play football.
He missed the rest of the 2022 season after tearing his ACL in week five of the season. Moseley signed a one-year contract with the Lions during the off-season.In the fifth week of the 2023 season, Moseley suffered an ACL tear in his right knee after being activated from the PUP list.
There was optimism that Moseley would eventually get an opportunity to prove to Detroit what he could do for their defence after resigning with the Lions this off-season. Although Moseley had a great start to training camp, it looks like he has sustained another long-term injury.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Moseley tore his pectoral muscle and will be out indefinitely. In the second week of the previous season, during the Lions’ game against the Seahawks, veteran safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson tore his pectoral muscle. Gardner-Johnson, thankfully, made a comeback to practice in December and participated in all three of the Lions’ postseason games as well as the season finale.
As per Lions player Dani Rogers, she has verified that Dan Campbell has also talked about Moseley’s injuries. According to him, Eman has two choices. After recovering from ACL injuries in consecutive seasons, rally once more or declare that enough is enough. Campbell predicts that he will select the first choice.
Moseley’s return is anticipated for later this year. He has played in 33 games with the 49ers in his career after going undrafted in 2018. In all, he has 162 tackles, 33 pass deflections, and 4 interceptions. Although Moseley has had a run of unfortunate injuries, we can only hope that he gets an opportunity to show himself in Detroit later in the season.
