Johnson and Virginia host No. 14 Duke

BOTTOM LINE: Virginia takes on No. 14 Duke after Kymora Johnson scored 28 points in Virginia’s 67-60 victory over the Clemson Tigers.

The Cavaliers are 8-2 on their home court. Virginia is seventh in the ACC with 11.4 offensive rebounds per game led by Latasha Lattimore averaging 2.8.

The Blue Devils are 3-1 against ACC opponents. Duke is third in the ACC with 17.3 assists per game led by Taina Mair averaging 3.8.

Virginia averages 7.3 made 3-pointers per game, 2.7 more made shots than the 4.6 per game Duke gives up. Duke averages 14.0 more points per game (78.1) than Virginia allows (64.1).

The Cavaliers and Blue Devils square off Sunday for the first time in conference play this season.

Ashlon Jackson averages 2.3 made 3-pointers per game for the Blue Devils, scoring 11.8 points while shooting 44.4% from beyond the arc.

Davis, who last week played in the 2025 Under Armour Next All-America Game, is a four-star prospect. He lettered four seasons at Grimsley High School in Greensboro, N.C., under head coach Darryl Brown. As a senior, Davis guided the Whirlies to the No. 1 seed in the state playoffs and captured the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 4A title. He finished his final campaign with 125 total tackles, 37 tackles for a loss, 27 sacks, five forced fumbles and eight pass breakups as Grimsley finished 16-0.

Schaper is a three-star prospect who was part of one state championship squad (2021), one runner-up squad (2024) and two semifinal teams (2022 and 2023) at Westlake High School in Austin, Texas. He served as a team captain as a senior and was a four-year letterwinner for head coach Tony Salazar. During his final season, he posted 128 tackles, 28 tackles for a loss and 12 sacks. As a junior, he received Austin American-Statesman Central Texas Defensive Player of the Year honors and Texas District 26-6A Defensive MVP accolades by a vote of the league’s coaches.
