Everton have suspended a first team player pending further investigations, the Premier League club announced.
Everton did not name the player or offer any other information in a statement posted on the team’s website.
“Everton can confirm it has suspended a first team player pending a police investigation,” the statement stated.
“The club will continue to support the authorities with their enquiries and will not be making any further statement at this time.”
