If Everton are to bolster a squad lacking depth this summer, Kevin Thelwell is going to have to pull some serious strings in the transfer market.

Evertonians will be praying that their most valuable players, such as Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, are not the ones forced leave after it was already announced that sacrifices would need to be made.

With just one year remaining on his contract, selling him might be their only choice if the latter choose to reject the new contract that is scheduled to be provided.

That may raise red flags for Thelwell, who will want to prepare for such a dire situation in advance.

Apparently, based on the most recent report, he is doing precisely that.

Everton interested in Luton Town star

This transfer report, which was provided by TEAMtalk, aims to explain the Toffees’ interest in a great player for Luton Town.

Rob Edwards’ team lost on Sunday as a result of their inability to take advantage of Nottingham Forest’s and Everton’s respective deductions.

But they didn’t give up easily, and as a result, many of his top players have drawn attention.

One such name is Ross Barkley, who is reportedly in talks to join Aston Villa, but Elijah Adebayo is another who has shown a lot of promise.

As per the report, “Everton is ready to intensify their efforts to sign Adebayo after they have secured some much-needed revenue from player sales.”

Sean Dyche needs more firepower

If Everton were to acquire Adebayo from the Hatters, it would be another cunning move on their part to take advantage of a team that has been demoted.

Already, Sean Dyche has been able to salvage Dwight McNeil, Abdoulaye Doucouré, James Tarkowski, and Jordan Pickford, all of whom have grown into important players.

Adebayo, a strong striker with more than enough physicality to succeed in Everton’s system, would undoubtedly follow suit.

In fact, in just 26 games this season, the 6′ 5 finisher scored 10 goals in the Premier League—more than both Calvert-Lewin and Beto combined.

And although this was many people’s first exposure to the 26-year-old, Wayne Rooney has long been aware of his abilities.

Even in 2022, he said, “Adebayo was a handful.” I genuinely attempted to get this player to Derby. He is large, strong, adept in the air, and challenging to play against.

These are the qualities that Dyche has always sought in his strikers over the years, so it would be wise for them to get Adebayo at a discount given their current financial situation.
