‘Here, you can’t hide’: Ian Woan makes surprising Everton-Burnley comparison that has shocked Sean Dyche

Sean Dyche is about as distinguishable as it comes in terms of Premier League managers, and he’s finding that out at Everton.

Things have largely improved on the field when Sean Dyche joined Everton last season compared to his departure.

Dyche departed Burnley one month prior to their relegation to the Championship, and he took over as Everton’s manager following a period of injury.

Taking charge of a club the size of Goodison Park would have been very different from Burnley because of the sheer disparity in size.

Ian Woan, the assistant manager of Everton, has now disclosed that Dyche has been taken aback by the disparity in club size.

Ian Woan on what’s shocked Sean Dyche since Everton move

In an interview with The Athletic, Woan provided an intriguing description of the non-football problems Dyche, in particular, is facing as Everton’s manager.

The Everton assistant said, “The problem you have with the gaffer is you can’t hide him.”

The other thing from our previous position is that Everton supporters are omnipresent. It makes no difference which city or town.

He never really felt bothered at Burnley, but because Everton is a worldwide team, it can be challenging to introduce him to the charms of Lark Lane. It’s not far to the apartment, but you can’t just put your 6′ 2″ ginger skinhead who talks like he talks in a corner and order him to keep his head down.

“The manager was probably unaware of how recognizable he is, despite being aware of Everton’s size.”

Dyche will be a success at Everton

Woan tells a really innocent scenario in which he and Dyche are just regular men who want to see some of Liverpool’s greatest attractions.

Dyche’s personality and coaching style are an ideal fit for Everton, increasing the likelihood that he will succeed there.

He has a great rapport with both the team and the community, so if he can maintain Everton in the Premier League this year and build on it the following year with a midtable or higher result, he may soon be counted among the club’s more notable recent alumni.

maybe even a future legend if he can bring consistency and top-half results back to the team.
