Sean Dyche has introduced the 21-year-old to the Everton senior side this season and now he’s admitted he’s impressed.

Speaking to the club’s media, Everton manager Sean Dyche acknowledged that he was impressed by the training of gifted young player Lewis Dobbin.

The 21-year-old has had a strong season of breakthrough play, even managing to score his first goal.

Regarding the young talent of the Toffees, Dyche stated the following:

Sean Dyche admits being impressed by Lewis Dobbin’s training attitude

In an interview with the media on Thursday, Dyche answered questions about Dobbin ahead of a challenging matchup with Manchester City on Saturday.

The Everton manager was questioned about the forward’s future and if he will see more playing time. In response, Dyche acknowledged that he had been impressed but did not guarantee that the Everton star’s minutes would grow.

Yes, he has been present for the entire season. He performed admirably during the preseason. Although we thought he had seen some action early in the season and in spurts, he is still growing. He’s a developing player, you know. We’re appreciating what he’s doing, but I think he still has more to give.

He is also putting in a lot of effort in his training. And I think it’s significant that every little aspect of the games he plays keeps strengthening his belief.

How has Lewis Dobbin performed for Everton this season?

Dobbin has now made 11 senior appearances for Everton this season, bringing his total to 22 from the 2021–2022 campaign.

Eight of his eleven appearances have been in the Premier League, where he has only scored once, at Goodison Park against Chelsea.

Even though he is in double digits, he has only played 228 minutes as a senior, of which 170 are in the league.

Despite playing only four minutes against Chelsea and fifteen against Spurs, he has shown improvement recently, especially against Chelsea and Spurs, receiving at least a 7/10 match rating in each of both contests.

Dobbin will be itching to get more playing time, but in order to get it, he’ll have to exercise patience and continue to wow Dyche.
