There is So much tension around Everton as new star signing LLiman Ndiaye could be handed an ‘outright ban’ due to betting activities.

Everton signed the Senegal forward  from Marseille on a five-year contract for a fee in the region of £15m.

The 24-year-old left Sheffield United to join Marseille in the summer of last year.

With four goals from 46 games the previous season, Ndiaye helped the French team advance to the Europa League semifinals.

The manager of Everton, Sean Dyche, stated, “We feel he will be a really positive addition to our squad. He is still young but has experience at European and international level.”

Ndiaye scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists to help Sheffield United win promotion from the Championship in 2022–2023; as a result, the team “reluctantly accepted” a reported £20 million bid for him.

Ndiaye, a forward originally from France, was acquired by the Blades in 2019 from non-league team Boreham Wood. Prior to relocating to Senegal, his father’s native country, the forward trained at the Marseille academy.

Ndiaye joins Everton as their third summer addition following the return of winger Jack Harrison on a season-long loan from Leeds and the permanent acquisition of central midfielder Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa.

The twenty-year-old Ndiaye stated, “The main reasons I wanted to join were the club’s size, its history, and the part I can play in helping the team in the forward direction it is going in.”

“I can’t wait. Being a part of the final season to play at Goodison Park will make me really proud.

“Iliman is a player we have admired for a long time and we are delighted to bring a much sought-after player of his quality to Everton,” stated Kevin Thelwell, director of football at Everton.

“We believe he will add excitement to Evertonians and a new dimension to our attack.”
