Breaking news: “He refused to pick my calls and he could leave.”  -Sean Dyche makes “shocking” admission following star defender’s…

Everton boss Sean Dyche sent shockwaves around Toffees fans after he revealed that Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite refused to pick his calls on several occasions.

But after the match, the Everton manager revealed some upsetting injury news, so that victory came at a cost.

Youssef Chermiti was not there for the game, and Dyche has now disclosed the full degree of his injury.

The 20-year-old appeared to be poised to challenge for a spot in Dyche’s starting lineup this season, but it’s possible that he was denied the opportunity.

This is hardly the news that Toffees fans were hoping to hear after such a successful day.

On their debuts, Jake O’Brien and Jesper Lindstrom both managed to get their names on the scoreboard.

However, as any Everton supporter is aware, when something looks too good to be true, there’s usually a catch.

And that turned out to be true when Dyche gave an update on Chermiti’s injury following the Deepdale encounter.

Following the game, Dyche acknowledged that Chermiti would be sidelined for a while due to an injury he recently sustained.

“Youssef will need some time to complete one. That kind of disappoints us a little,” Dyche remarked.
