Lewis Hamilton, the Formula 1 driver, will go from Mercedes to Ferrari in 2025.

Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time World Drivers’ Champion, is reportedly getting ready to leave Mercedes and join Ferrari in a major Formula One shake-up.

In August 2023, Hamilton, who has won seven championships overall (six of them consecutive), agreed to a two-year contract extension with Mercedes, the team located in England.

The English driver is scheduled to leave the Silver Arrows after his twelfth season, however his contract allowed him to leave after 2024.

Hamilton released a statement saying, “I’m extremely pleased of what we have accomplished together. I have had a wonderful 11 years with this team.” Since I was thirteen years old, Mercedes has been a part of my life.

It was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make to leave, as it is a place where I have grown up. However, I’m eager to take on a new challenge and I believe the time is appropriate for me to make this move.”

The 38-year-old Hamilton admitted to considering a driving career break from Mercedes in an interview with ESPN in May 2023. He even brought up Ferrari.

At the time, he declared, “I’d be lying if I said I’d never thought of concluding my career anyplace else.” “I wondered what it would be like to be in red, so I pondered about it and watched the Ferrari drivers on the screens at the circuit.”

After starting his career with McLaren in 2007 and moving on to Mercedes in 2013, Hamilton would be racing for Ferrari, his third Formula One team.
